Day 82

August 26th, 2012

Sunday

I didn't sleep well last night - in fact I was woken up twice by contractions.  I was so tired today so I stayed home from church while Paul took the children.  I was having some cramping so just in case I had Paul hook the TENS unit to my back.  So far today things haven't picked up.  Midwife Betty stopped by and told me I was just at a 2, but very ready to go into labor anytime.

Saturday

Went to Wal-Mart today and finally found the family stickers and put them on the van.  After the baby is born we'll add one more.  I LOVE my big ugly family van.  I know we'll have so much fun in it, make many great memories (o=

Grandma visiting the kittens who are 4 weeks old now?  They can walk and like to explore the girls room which is where they live.

Thursday

This was a day Jolie looked forward to for a week.  She wanted to get her hair cut short - and she did.  JC Penny is giving free hair cuts to children this whole month - and my children needed them.  I brought along Jude but he refused to get his hair cut.

Wednesday

My mom, Lucinda and I went out to eat this evening at a Morrocoan restaurant in NW Portland.  It was quite the experience.  We ate unusual food with our hands.  The waiter washed our hands, he gave us towells for our lap.  It was a 5 course meal.  There was also a belly dancer for our entertainment.

Tuesday

Paul was very sweet and de-frosted our old freezor and got it cleaned out for us.  I much appreciate it.  Jolie and Jadon had fun throwing the ice around and breaking it.

Jaren and Jolie playing in the neighbors Shaylee and Shayla's pool.  It was actually a pretty cool day today.

38 weeks and 2 days pregnant.  I am SOOOOOOOO ready to meet this little baby.  I can feel my body getting ready.

I know this is a poor quality picture.  Jude learned what happens when he eats down in the playroom and leaves food on the floor.  This is a plate with bread and tens if not hundreds of sugar ants. He took care of it - didn't even gross him out, I think he enjoyed playing with the ants.

Friday

Jenea (front middle in pink), Ellie and Megan, the 11 year old girls in our ward got to attend a day at Girls Camp today.  Next year they'll be attending.  I was so glad Jenea went, she LOVED it!

Thursday

Some say I should be banned from the kitchen, I don't mind (o=.  I had tea simmering, macaroni and cheese and pinto beans cooking.  The pinto beans had a glass lid - approved for cooking on them.  The glass exploded all over the kitchen, ruining everything on the stove.  Luckily no one was in the kitchen at that time.

Wednesday

The children were so excited today to receive two packages from Grandma Alaska today.  Jaren received a dragon puzzle to paint and assemble.  He shared it with the other children.  I found Jadon hiding under the table completly covered in paint, pouring paint all over the place.  

We can't wait till Grandma Alaska herself, and Aunt Jennifer and Socks arrive from Alaska soon!

Day 69

Tuesday

Our van came to us a little dirtier than we thought - okay, a lot dirtier.  Paul removed the seats and carpet vacuumed it out.  The children and I gave it's outside a much needed bath after traveling 800 miles to us.

The children LOVE riding in the new van, it's so spacious.  Paul says we finally have an automobile he likes driving because it's large and powerful.

This evening Paul took Jaren to the shooting range for his very first time shooting.  Jaren LOVED it! He tog to shoot a zombie.

Sunday

Today the completion of a miracle happened.  We got our "new to us" van.  It was a miracle because some people that are well known (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliver_DeMille), and whose family I am acquainted with up here put their van for sale and posted it on facebook. It was just what we were looking for and way in our price range.  The trouble was the van was located in Southern Utah.  I called Julie (pictured here) who I've talked with a few times over the years and bought oils from (she owns a health store in Price Utah).  She mentioned that she's coming to Oregon this weekend for vacation- and she offered to drive the van up for me.   

I've wanted to meet Julie for a while now - we have SOOOOOO much in common and she really is an angel.  She arrived in Portland late last night and we were able to pick up the van this am and I was finally able to meet Julie.

Tonight we attended our Stake Fiesta Dinner - the children weren't too interested in eating.  They had fun playing, then we got home and they wanted to eat.

Once in a while I allow Jadon to use the big vacuum, turn it on and vacuum the playroom.  Today I allowed this and he vaccumed up the used kitty litter.  I discovered this when I went downstairs to put the vacuum away and noticed how very heavy it was.

Thursday

The first of Mia's kittens opened his eyes today.  Jenea made the discovery and was so excited, she ran upstairs hollering for us all to go to her room and take a look.

Today was Jolie's first day of Activity-day girls.  She made this magnet there.  She also lost a tooth today.

This is me in my parents car with a couple of children following Paul in his pick-up with 3 children.  We've been driving around like this - in two automobiles- for a couple of weeks now, since we sold our van and are waiting to buy our new van.

Saturday

Today we took our field trip for Jaren's birthday.  We went to the Evergreen Aviation Museum and Waterpark in McMinneville, OR.  Jadon and Jaren are standing in front of a replica of the moon-rover, in the background is a replica of Apollo 13.       

The children LOVED the waterpark!  Their favorite part of it was the wave pool, which they literally spent hours in.  Here are Jolie and Jaren in the inner tube, and Jadon in his lifejacket.

Friday

We went on a walk and Jaren rode his bike.  He crashed pretty good while going up a curb.  Broke this light off his bike and got a bruise on his head and cheek.  I'm SO grateful he didn't hurt himself any more than that.
