Our dear sweet realtor Edna (even little Mia likes her) came over today with papers in hand for Paul and I to sign to sell our house. We got an offer on it and it wasn't even on the market. Miracles do happen!

A new river has been created in the United States - Mud River. It's in our back yard and the kids LOVE to play in it, create islands and make mud pies.

We all loaded up in the van and were ready to go when we discovered we can't go anywhere. The battery died (likely due to lights being left on by kids) so Jaren helped Paul jump the vehicle.

Thursday
I read in one of my Charlotte Mason books a unique way of doing spelling with children. I write a word on the wipeboard, hold it up for the children, let them look at it for a period of time. They may spell it on their tablet AFTER they have studied it and can close their eyes and see it in their mind. This method is working wonderfully for us so far! The kids are having fun with it too.

The kids and I have started working in the yard for 20 minutes or so each morning to tidy things up, harvest and just get outside. This is what we found in our garden this morning. Yum!

Monday
Tonight we had family home evening. The lesson was on the priesthood and blessings. Paul lead the evening and had the kids make pin wheels. The power of the priesthood is real, just like air is real, we can feel it, we just can't see it. That was the object lesson. We all enjoyed it!

Last night we stayed the night at Shilo Inn and today met our friends (and fellow Knights of Virtue) at Fort Clatsop for our kick off field trip. This evening we enjoyed a camp fire on the beach, roasting hot dogs and eating watermelon.
