Day 111

September 25th, 2011

Our dear sweet realtor Edna (even little Mia likes her) came over today with papers in hand for Paul and I to sign to sell our house. We got an offer on it and it wasn't even on the market. Miracles do happen!

Day 110

September 24th, 2011

Having fun with the neighbor girls making colorful pixie dust out of chalk.

Day 109

September 23nd, 2011

We got down our Halloween decorations today!  Jadon couldn't wait to try the fangs out.

Day 108

September 22nd, 2011

A new river has been created in the United States - Mud River.  It's in our back yard and the kids LOVE to play in it, create islands and make mud pies.

Day 107

September 21st, 2011

While I sit next to the children while they do their school work if they don't need assistance I'll draw.  It's actually kind of fun.

Day 106

September 20th, 2011

We all loaded up in the van and were ready to go when we discovered we can't go anywhere.  The battery died (likely due to lights being left on by kids) so Jaren helped Paul jump the vehicle.

Day 105

September 19th, 2011

The kids LOVE to visit daddy's office because when they do he shows them a little movie clip.

Day 104

September 18th, 2011

It's harvest season.  This is the first time I've canned tomatoes.  They look wonderful!

Day 103

September 17th, 2011

Paul decided to clean out his office today.  We all enjoyed seeing what he found in there.  This is a radio he made back in college, it still works.

Day 102

September 16th, 2011

Most weekday mornings we get out in the garden.  Today we harvested the last of chokeberries (also called aronia berries).

Day 101

September 15th, 2011

I found a stowaway in our car.  Our guest cat Obie Kenobi.

Day 100

September 14th, 2011

We enjoyed spending the afternoon at our friends the Salyards home.  They have 16 chickens, we want chickens.  One day we'll have chickens of our own (o=

Day 99

September 13th, 2011

We have been out of chalk for quite some time.  I finally bought a bunch and I find chalk feet prints on my couch.

Day 98

September 12th, 2011

Most mornings when Paul leaves for work we stop our morning routine so Jolie and Jadon can run out side to give Paul a proper send off for the day.

Day 97

September 11th, 2011

Jadon really loves Mia and Mia is SUCH a patient, gentle, sweet little kitty to be so patient with him.

Day 96

September 10th, 2011

Tonight we went to dinner at the church.  The kids favorite part was running around with the other kids.

Day 95

September 9th, 2011

Our resident cave dweller comes out when his beautiful, sweet girl friend Jennifer is visiting.  It's nice to see them both.

Day 94

September 8th, 2011

I read in one of my Charlotte Mason books a unique way of doing spelling with children.  I write a word on the wipeboard, hold it up for the children, let them look at it for a period of time.  They may spell it on their tablet AFTER they have studied it and can close their eyes and see it in their mind.  This method is working wonderfully for us so far!  The kids are having fun with it too.

Day 93

September 7th, 2011

The kids and I have started working in the yard for 20 minutes or so each morning to tidy things up, harvest and just get outside.  This is what we found in our garden this morning.  Yum!

Day 92

September 6th, 2011

It's apple season!!!!!

Day 91

September 5th, 2011

Tonight we had family home evening.  The lesson was on the priesthood and blessings.  Paul lead the evening and had the kids make  pin wheels.  The power of the priesthood is real, just like air is real, we can feel it, we just can't see it.  That was the object lesson.  We all enjoyed it!

Day 90

September 4th, 2011

I figured it's time I get our homeschool plan in place for the next few months.

Day 89

September 3nd, 2011

Boys hard at work repairing the screen door that the kids hard at play broke.

Day 88

September 2nd, 2011

Last night we stayed the night at Shilo Inn and today met our friends (and fellow Knights of Virtue) at Fort Clatsop for our kick off field trip.  This evening we enjoyed a camp fire on the beach, roasting hot dogs and eating watermelon.

Day 87

Yeah, we are FINALLY at the beach!!!!!!!
