Day 29

July 5th, 2012

Thursday

The sun finally came out.  Dare I hope summer is beginning here in Portland?  Today I tried out my new toy, my solar oven I've kept boxed up for months waiting......... I'm prepping it for it's first use.  The instructions were to get it heated up (it hit 350 inside) and put 3 cups of vinegar in it, then wipe it out.  Hopefully I'll be able to actually cook in it tomorrow.

Day 28

July 4th, 2012

Wednesday

We went to the Waddells tonight for their annual 4th of July Party.  It was wonderful being around our homeschool friends in a social setting and catching up with them.  The children LOVED playing with all the other children.  Here is Jaren his sparkler lit.

Day 27

July 3rd, 2012

Tuesday

Preparing for the 4th of July party we'll be going to tomorrow.  I made a Waldorf quinoa salad and red, white and blue jello.  Yep, this is as fancy as I get in my food preparations.

Day 26

July 2nd, 2012

Monday

Jaren is very interested in outer-space right now.  Lately he's been gathering the books we have on outer-space and reading them at night.  Here he is doing a science experiment showing others how the sun shines on the earth.

Day 25

July 1st, 2012

Sunday

The first thing the children do when we come home from church is grab their 2nd apple for the day and settle down to read.  Jaren reads his cat books and Jenea often grabs the comics from the newspaper.

Day 24

June 30th, 2012

Saturday

Here is another picture from our Wildlife Safari trip back in March.  This is me, Jaren and Jolie.  I forgot to bring my camera to the ward BBQ tonight - that was held inside thanks to the rain (sigh).

Day 23

June 29th, 2012

Friday

31 weeks pregnant.  This week while we were taking a walk a lady (whom I know from church) asked if I was walking hoping to get labor started.  I think people forget what is in my belly - lots of water, a 3 lb organ (the placenta) AND a baby.
